The Southern Telemessaging Association (STA) held its second Spring Cruise / Workshop April 28 through May 3 aboard the Carnival Cruise Lines Imagination.
Forty attendees participated in the workshop. Randy Ripkey of TASbiller and Accurate Messages gave a presentation entitled “Profitability Analysis – How to Make More Money.” Steve Clover of CadCom Telesystems shared ideas on how to effectively market to physicians. Tips to detect and avoid burnout were shared by Mari Osmon of Spectrum Communications. Later MaryAnn Wetmore of Network One Communications and Patty Anderson of Telescan led adiscussion on HIPAA and its impact on call centers.
Each evening, a follow up roundtable discussion of the day’s presentation topic was held during dinner. Attendees were happy with the learning and networking opportunities as well as the relational value with other owners. Ports of call were Belize City, Belize, and Key West Florida. There was ample time on the ship for sun, play, and eating in between the valuable sessions.
The third Annual STA Spring Cruise / Workshop has already been scheduled for April 25- May 1, 2004.
